WheelSlip8, those Sage reels were designed by Waterworks/Lamson, whose reels are based on extremely simple, but very effective designs. Compared to an older or “traditional” Billy Pate, Fin-Nor, Old Florida, or similar high performance reel, those Waterworks-Sage reels have FAR fewer parts and a much cleaner design.

What’s up with all the new fangled over engineered reels. That reel of yours looks like a part on the space shuttle. Whatever happened to simplicity?
